Our approach to grants

The Gjensidige Foundation’s grants program targets projects and efforts within the priority areas of health and safety. All donations are currently made on a national level. We use two different approaches to identify and select the most relevant projects.

The 15th of September of each year marks the deadline of our call for general applications for grants. Voluntary teams, associations and volunteer centers can apply for grants within the following five categories: Safety, Learning and achievement, Social inclusion and diversity, Physical activity, Nutrition.

In addition to the call for general applications, the Foundation is pro-active in identifying and granting funds to larger initiatives, either alone or in collaboration with other organizations. These initiatives often run for an extended time period. The Foundation contributes to these initiatives primarily with financial backing, and the initiatives are to be carried out by the recipients of the grants. Through these initiatives we often bring together various players and organizations, with the ambition of identifying and establishing new ways of cooperation. We also have the flexibility to act quickly, if an urgent opportunity is identified or brought to our attention.
